Welcome to Peria School
Kia ora!
Thank you all for taking the time to look through our Peria School website.
Here at Peria School we are looking forward to another great year. 2024 is going to be a blast. We seem to be continuously growing these days with a roll of 73 students (as of the 4th of March) and 4 composite classrooms and a Makerspace. We are enjoying this steady increase in our roll and the added opportunities more student numbers afford us. The numbers in each class remain small and we have 5 kaiawhina (teacher aides) who work across the classrooms, which means that all students have equal and ample access to learning and extra support. We invest in teachers and teacher aides because we know that this makes the most difference for students in their learning to have that support.
Our grounds are flourishing and our school has a great environment to play in and ample opportunities to explore sustainability and environmentally education.
We have 4 wonderful teachers with various teaching expertise and passions which is great because students are exposed to a wide range of learning. We aim to ensure that our students are learning focused, and are supported and nurtured to develop both academically and holistically.
We have recently undertaken huge work in terms of our Strategic Goals for the next 2 years and we are really excited about what this means for our School, for our Staff and Students. You can see our Strategic Plan on a page at the bottom of this page with our Strategic Goals and Initiatives, what we hope to achieve and what success will look like when we do achieve these Goals. You can also see our annual plan which is how we aim to implement our goals over 2024. There’s a lot but we have high expectations of ourselves and our students and we know we can get there.
We are in a beautiful spot, with access to bush, farms, nature, beaches and streams and we aim to ensure that our students make the most of learning through our rich and diverse environment. We have high expectations of our students and know that all our students have unlimited potential to succeed. We aim to bring learning to life for students and ensure that a sustainable lens is put over all we do to ensure that students understand their impact not only in school but also in the world.
Myself, and all of the staff, are always more than happy to meet with you to discuss, celebrate and share the needs and achievements of your children so please don’t ever hesitate to approach any of us.
